Chap 10 VISUALISING SOLID SHAPES

Chap 10
VISUALISING SOLID SHAPES
SOME IMPORTANT FACTS
1.      Plane shapes have two measurements like length and breadth, so they are called 2-d shapes.
2.      Solid objects  have three measurements like length breadth and height, so they are called 3-d shapes. 3- d shapes have different views from different angles.
3.      A map depicts the location of a particular object/ place . It involve a scale which is fixed for a particular map
4.      Different symbols are used to depict different objects/ places.
5.      A polyhedron is a solid that is bounded by polygons. Which are called its faces, these faces meet at edges which are line segments; and the edges meet at vertices which are points.
6.    Euler’s formula.
For any polyhedron,   f  +  v  -  e  = 2, where ‘f’ stands for number of faces , v stands for number of vertices and e stands for number of edges. This relationship is Euler’s formula.
